Men’s Shed Project

I have a project!

I am working with the local Neighbourhood House to get a Men’s Shed happening. We have a site, some funding and one our local Rotary members has surveyed the site and drawn up plans, but that’s just the starting point.  We have to fill it with tools, activity and people!

I have been talking to lots of local men and they are enthusiastic about the new shed. It’s such a great idea. I’ve been reading about shed’s around Victoria and all the different activities that happen in them. I love the idea of retired men sharing their skills with younger men in the community. When people retire, they take out of the workforce a lot of knowledge. Some have spent a lifetime learning skills and trades that would be great to pass on to others. The other thing men are telling me about retirement is they miss the social side of work.
