Full Moon in Gemini – Lunar Eclipse – Sunday 11th December 2011

The eclipse happens in the wee hours of Sunday morning. I thought it was going to happen tomorrow all week. I just checked and it’s Sunday here in Australia. This week has been a bit mad and busy and as Kelly Surtees post mentioned this morning the high and low tides reflects in our emotions.

Eclipses in December are pressure cookers. We are busy completing things and preparing for the festive season and whilst an eclipse is possibly right it adds some intensity. Here’s Jo Tracey’s day, which reminds me of some of the conversations I’ve had this week.

I’m tired tonight. It’s been pretty warm here today. I had a big weekend last weekend. My birthday celebrations and the 10 to 10 filled out most of my weekend and spilled over into the week (well the birthday part anyway). I felt very grateful. I enjoyed catching up with the old school buddies. It’s deserving of a post in itself.

I’ve finalised work arrangements for next year. I have started planning my part-time project for next year after having a 6 month contract confirmed late last week. I’m working with disengaged students at school for a couple of days as well as at the local Neighbourhood House one day a week. The list of students keeps growing. Sometimes I feel a bit overwhelmed by it all. I’m also finishing up with my current students. Many of them are not looking forward to Christmas. I listen to them and that’s about all I’m good for. I can’t make it all better. Excitement about the challenge of the project will come, but probably not until after I’ve had a rest:).

I’ve had to rearrange my days at Choices also and I felt concerned that it wouldn’t work for them. I find the contrast between my two jobs so refreshing. The school offered me to work full-time but although it would be more money, I think I would burn out quickly. Having two and a half days ‘playing’ with floor coverings and homemakers is like an antidote to the sadness of some of the young people I work with who live in a different world. I finally had the conversation and it was no problem. My boss there is flexible and appreciates me. It is a good feeling.

There is more but I’m having an early night:)

Path of the Stray by Kim Falconer

Kim Falconer’s books get better and better. I loved ‘Path of the Stray’. The characters, plot and especially the world she has created kept me enthralled. She blends technology, magic and astrology.

‘Path of the Stray’ is an adventure across time and space that I couldn’t put down and finished sadly. This is the first in a series of three books that is set in the same worlds as the first trilogy, yet with different, although related characters.

I enjoyed it immensely. Read more on Kim Falconer’s site.

Full Moon in Taurus – Friday 11th November 2011

Yes that’s right we have a full moon on that date 11/11/11.

It’s also Remembrance Day. Yesterday I bought a wrist band instead of the usual poppy. It’s really pretty. The past 10 years I’ve been in a school and this day has been observed with a brief ceremony. This year I’ll be working in a shop so I’ll have to remember without the usual structures.  Maybe I’ll set an alarm on my phone.

Taurus is a very sensual sign. All the Taurus born I’ve known are foodies. When I was at The Butchers Dog, many of our customers were Taurus, one in particular I remember fondly would even send her mum in to get food she read on the Facebook status, cause she didn’t want to miss out. I had to ask her one day and she was as I expected a Taurean. It is the one star sign I can often pick. Two of my closest people, my nana and my son are this sign. Probably not a good day to start a diet:).

Here is a post from Ruby Slipper I have read for this full moon. I will add my favourites to my delicious feed as I read them. I am posting this early as I have a busy week and want to have this done if I don’t get time.

Venus Bay

Went for a drive to Venus Bay today. I haven’t been there for a very long time and it is nothing like I remembered it. in fact I don’t think I’ve ever actually been there before because what I remember as Venus Bay is non existent at the place I went to. It’s not just about development but major landscape. I wonder where the place formerly labelled Venus Bay in my mind is?

There are many places like that between Inverloch and the Prom. I don’t go to the beaches often enough and either they change or I must have mislabeled them in my mind. I can never remember the Walkerville beach I like. There are two and they are quite different. I went to Shallow Inlet one day thinking it was something totally different and was really disappointed. Ah well. I like the name Venus Bay. It suggests beauty. When we looked in the real estate agent window there were lots of astro sounding street names like Jupiter St etc. Clearly the person who named the place was into astrology or at least astronomy.

Darin and I had a rare day without work or plans. We enjoyed the warm weather this weekend, although it was cooler there.

New Moon in Scorpio – Thursday 27th October 2011

Scorpio is a magnetic and intense sign. The new moon in this sign is looking like a powerful one. It’s the dark moon now so to prepare for what’s ahead read Ruby Slipper:New Moon Cheat Sheet.

The phoenix is a symbol associated with Scorpio. This photo is from a float and the faces are of organ donors. It’s a great symbol for hope and renewal.

I like the rebirth theme for this new moon. I’m feeling it. I’ve been tying up lots of loose ends and sorting out my financial life. My finances were on autopilot for so many years while I was a teacher.  I’m working part time and casual, it takes a bit more thought and I’ve had a few messes to clean up too. It’s best not to ignore things and hope they go away… they don’t!

I’m starting a new job on Thursday, so it’s good timing. I’m working part-time in a floor and window covering business in a nearby town. I’m looking forward to assisting people to make their homes into beautiful and functional spaces. I went for the interview and it was a painless process. I liked the man who will be my boss. He seems very honest and fair. It will be an enjoyable shift of focus for a couple of days a week. I enjoyed working in soft furnishings in the 90s. I love the samples and working with colours and textures. There are some amazing tiles.

Full Moon in Aries – Wednesday 12th October 2011

The moon is full around lunchtime today. Aries is a fire sign. Watch out for short tempers. Lynda Hill’s Sabian Symbols is the only post I’ve had time to read about this one. I will add to delicious the other posts I read about this moon for those who are interested. In a big hurry today:).

New Moon in Libra – Tuesday 27th September 2011

I’ve taken the dark moon prescription and rested. Mystic Medusa had some classic posts (Your Dark Moon on Speed) about the dark moon.

I’ve had shingles. The Friday before the holidays I came home from school and started to feel the painful tingle in my face and noticed some red lumps had formed along my jaw up to my ear. Darin was returning from a brief visit to Sydney and I was excited about him coming home. I missed him.  I spent most of my time in the last week in bed. I have slept a lot, sooked a bit and been well looked after. He’s been cooking me healthy meals and taking care of the things I couldn’t as well as just being there for me in lots of small ways.  I missed my friend’s wedding. I felt very sorry for myself. Today I feel better.

Libra is a sign of balance and relationship. Venus the planet of beauty and abundance rules Libra (along with Taurus). One of my close friends, Wilma is Libran and has excellent taste and communication skills you would associate with one. We were in business together in ‘Unique Furnishings’ and ‘Total Vision’ both soft furnishings/interior decorating businesses. It was a fun and social time of my life.

Wilma’s daughter got married on Friday and although I couldn’t go, I know it would have been beautiful. I have known Dallis since she was 3 and Nathan is a worthy man for her. When I met Nathan I felt comfortable and I liked him. It was instantly fun in their space.

Strange Attractors by Kim Falconer

Book Three of the ‘Quantum Enchantment’ series was the best yet. I put a lot of it down to becoming familiar with the characters and having a sense of the lands and time travel. These books are vastly interesting with a great mix of magic, technology, time travel and astrology.

I loved the twists in this book. The characters are interesting. This time I paid more attention and noticed An’ Lawrence was a Virgo p242:). Should have paid more attention in the first book and I could have won Mystic Medusa’s competition:). If you are into astrology you will love this series. I can’t wait to begin the next trilogy.

Full Moon in Pisces – Monday 12th September 2011

My natal moon is in Pisces, but it wasn’t full… just a quarter:) To give some idea of the range of Pisces, check out this link to Mystic Medusa’s fabulous Hi-Low series for Pisces.
These are the posts I’ve read about this full moon occurring here at around 7.30 tonight:

September’s full Moon, occurring on September 12, speaks about having food on the table and being able to nurture your self and others and provide for life’s necessities. The Sabian Symbol is Pisces 20: A Table Set For An Evening Meal.

Lynda Hill

This Full Moon will bring us the rewards of work we’ve done up to now! It’s a harvest time, with lots of great activity gathering what we need that we’ll be able to use in practical ways in the very near future.

Aquarius Papers

There’s a dreamy, saturated Full Moon in Pisces on September 12th. Expect an emphasis on creativity, glamour and compassion but also disappointment, escape and addiction.

Ruby Slipper

and to bring a smile

There seem to be less crazies about than most Full Moons – i think it’s because the Zap Zone of June to August was SO intense, even the people who want to go ape can’t be bothered.

Mystic Medusa

My weekend was good. The macarons were yummy, but looked nothing like they should. The nougat was a complete failure… way too runny. I need to use the thermometer next time. Asha’s party went well.

New Moon in Virgo – Monday 28th August 2011

This next new moon occurs early tomorrow morning. I am already feeling the Virgo push, the moon entered Virgo early this morning. I’m making lists, attempting to create some order out of my life. I’m analysing. I have listened to a SARK audio today whilst dealing with my laundry. There was an exercise about dealing with the inner critic on it and it’s apt for a Virgo moon. Give your inner critic a mission. Where would you like that critical eye on your life… that would be the only job:). Interesting process.

I have enjoyed Kim Falconer’s writing lately and have subscribed to her newsletter.

Here are a few quotes from my new moon reading:

The Virgo new Moon, occurring on August 28 in the United States and August 29 in Australia, is on Virgo 6: A Merry-Go-Round. This new Moon seems set to bring at least some measure of light relief after several months of very intense lunations (full and new Moons).

Linda Hill’s Sabian Symbols

This Lunation will harmonize a lot in our lives.

Aquarius Papers

Last months’ New Moon was in creative, generous, warm Leo. We were urged to look at the Leo parts of our lives. This month, we are urged to look deeper into the practical, the routine, the habitual. This month, we need to look to Virgo- service or servitude.

Jo Tracey

All sounds good … read the links for a fuller appreciation of this moon. I’m off to organise my thinking:).
